If there’s one thing that unites both the on-road and off-road types, it’s that we all share a love of fastbacks. There’s just some awesome quality to the sleek dropoff that makes a vehicle appear more aerodynamic and ready to roll; it’s a quality that can now be found on Jeeps, thanks to the latest soft top from Bestop – the Trektop NX Glide.

Building off of the popular Trektop line of tops, the NX Glide is groundbreaking in both its appearance and functionality, and now it’s here in our shop as we await an install on a sweet black Wrangler JK. In the meantime, we thought it would be cool to go some of the features and benefits of this top.

Right off the bat, we can point to the material used in the soft top – black twill. This is Bestop’s premium fabric, and is a triple-layer (backing, neoprene, and twill), acrylic twill design that provides insulating properties to the interior of the Jeep, making it cooler inside when it’s warmer outside, and warmer inside when it’s colder outside. The windows, meanwhile, are tinted 40mm units that can seal all the way around.

Probably what will be of big interest to the Jeep crowd is the Sunrider aspect of the NX Glide. This allows the NX Glide to unclip from the front, fold backwards, and let in some sunshine and air into the cabin. It’s perfect for reaching that summit or picturesque location and wanting to really enjoy the outdoors, from the comfort of the Wrangler.

Zippered mesh pockets help the driver and front passenger store little items, adding to the utility of the Trektop NX Glide.
