Keeping cool on the trails can be difficult when the terrain is mountainous and difficult to traverse. Thankfully Jeep Wrangler JK owners have a new solution in the form of these hod louvers from Rugged Ridge. They’re designed to get the heat out of the engine bay while retaining the factory hood.

Official Release:

Rugged Ridge’s new Hood Louvers for the ’07-’14 Jeep Wrangler JK are a more affordable alternative to an aftermarket hood as a way of lowering off-road engine temperatures.

The new JK Hood Louvers from Rugged Ridge mount to the factory hood and are designed to help promote more effective airflow; alleviating overheating issues some Jeep owners face when operating their rigs at slow speeds under extreme trail conditions for prolonged periods of time.

“We wanted to give Jeep owners a great quality hood at an affordable price that was easy to install and retained a factory fit and finish,” said Chris Van Buren, Design Engineer at Omix-ADA.

An affordable alternative to a full replacement aftermarket hood, such as Rugged Ridge’s Performance Vented Hood, some cutting and drilling is required to complete installation. Made from high quality stamped steel and finished with a rust preventative E-coat, Rugged Ridge ships each set of the hood louvers in the owner’s choice of black or ready-to-paint primer, and includes a set of both black and stainless steel hardware to customize the final look.

Each Rugged Ridge JK Hood Louver is backed by an industry-leading five-year limited warranty and is available through select Jeep and off-road parts/accessories retailers nationwide starting at $124.99.

Features:

  • High-quality stamped steel construction
  • Can be ordered in black or ready-to-paint primer finishes
  • Helps to alleviate hot underhood temperatures on the trail
