The outgoing Ford F-150 made its global debut to a lot of fanfare. The nameplate has been one of the best-selling models in the country, and with the growing popularity of pickup trucks, the latest iteration of the Ford F-150 immediately became one of the most successful offerings in the segment.
As fans around the world impatiently await the arrival of the V8-powered Raptor R model, there are some F-1 50 owners who have already started modifying their new rides, and thanks to a wide range of aftermarket parts, we have seen some impressive builds. Casey, who goes by the username “Kirbster” on F150GEN14.com, is the proud owner of one such build.
The Collierville, Tennessee resident is the proud owner of a 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum that sports an Agate Black paint scheme. The pickup truck rides on 20-inch Shelby alloys, which are wrapped in 34.5 inch Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT rubber. Casey also offered an interesting insight into his build.
The F150GEN14 user disclosed that F-150 owners can use Bilstein B8 5100 ride height adjustable shocks on the 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum. “I really like it. Rides good and stable,” said Casey commenting on the ride comfort of his pickup. The user posted pictures of his pickup truck on the forum to prove that the rolling stock does not stick beyond the fenders. Also, the wheels tuck away nicely into the pickup truck.
Casey even inspired a fellow F150GEN14 user, Adam, to reach out to Bilstein and enquire about the compatibility of the 5100 shocks for the 2021 model year F-150. The company informed the user that it will probably introduce a new shock option for the 2021 F-150 sometime later this year, and advised the user to not use the 2020 damper.
Casey replied, “Well, guess I’ll see what happens and see what people say down the road.” Casey’s build is understated as well as restrained, and by the looks of it, the Bilstein 5100 shocks fit quite well on the new truck.
