With the Fourth of July right around the corner, we can wave Ole Glory a little stronger this year. Bryce Menzies is going to be representing the United States of America in the 2019 Silk Way Rally July 6th to the 16th. This year’s route begins in Irkutsk, Russia then crosses through Mongolia from north-to-south and eventually finishes in the Gobi Desert in Dunhuang, China.

“I’m beyond excited to get back to rally racing and first up is the Silk Way Rally,” said Menzies. “I am ready to put my Toyo tires to the test and compete against the best drivers in the world.”
In addition to Red Bull, Menzies has teamed up with Toyo Tires to help compete in the 2019 Silk Way Rally. “Toyo Tires is excited to participate in the Silk Way Rally with Bryce Menzies, Red Bull, and Peugeot,” said Stan Chen, senior manager, events and sponsorships, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. “With 10 stages of racing and extreme terrain, the Silk Way Rally is the perfect opportunity to showcase the traction, durability, and longevity of our Open Country tires.”

This isn’t the first time racing the Silk Way Rally for Menzies. He debuted in 2017 where he ended up winning a stage before having issues in the Gobi Desert.
“I can’t be more excited and ready to race,” Menzies said. “I had so much fun at the Silk Way last time, even if I was totally exhausted by the end. It’s 10 days of racing non-stop for 12 hours, the ultimate adventure. I’m aiming for a podium finish this time – that would be huge.”

Menzies will be driving Sébastien Loeb’s Peugeot 3008 DKR from the 2017 Dakar Rally to race the 2019 Silk Way Rally. Having a proven vehicle in a race like this is a major advantage.
