Westin Automotive has been hard at work this first half of 2019. The biggest news to come from the company is its purchase of Superwinch, the prestigious company with over 50 years of know-how and quality in winch production. On top of that, the company is looking for 2019 Ram 1500 owners (new body style) to test fit the HDX Bandit bumper.
We reached out to speak with Westin’s Kurt Miller and see what more we could find about these news stories. Regarding the Superwinch buyout, he said, “It went official about three weeks ago. The reaction from the public has been very positive, people are happy to see this company continue to thrive, and we made waves at the recent Overland Expo West as the official winch sponsor for that event. We were very proud of that!”
Many of Westin’s bumpers coincide with the ability to mount a winch, which made the onboarding even more fortuitous. Options like the WJ2, HDX, and Marksman all have the proper cutouts and durability to withstand winching, and are available now on Westin’s website.
Speaking of the HDX bumper, Westin is currently in need of test fitters. They are looking for owners in Southern California with the new body style of Ram 1500 (2019 and newer), and are willing to compensate owners. How cool would it be to drive in with that boring stock bumper and roll out with a badass Westin one?

“We are looking for any owners in the SoCal area that want to donate their truck for a day or two,” explained Miller. “What we’ll do is take it into our facility, take some photos, do the measurements and look for how we can make the product fitment as perfect as possible. Plus, the truck owners get to drive off with something they can be proud of.”
