The JL may be the newest kid on the block, but the JK is still king of the Jeeps for the time being. Edelbrock has the goods to provide JK owners with some more oomph in their rig, and it comes in the form of the Stage I E-Force supercharger system.
We spoke with Tony Avina to learn more about these systems and how they can help JK owners motivate their machines. “The Jeep market is the largest market out there for modified vehicles,” he said. “It made sense to us to give Jeep owners our top-tier products, which we manage and produce in-house.”
For manual Wrangler JKs, the Edelbrock E-Force supercharger system will provide up to 317 rwhp and 277 lb-ft of torque. Automatic models make 303 rwhp and 262 lb-ft of torque.
The vision behind the E-Force superchargers was to give already heavily modified JKs the ability to regain their lost horsepower and torque. “Most customers that have done the typical mods – bigger tires, regearing, and so on – have overwhelmed the V6,” said Avina. “The supercharger is there to bring back the lost power and give the Jeep the boost it needs in that department.”
To that end, the E-Force is designed to be a shot in the arm, so to speak. “We’ve tested and seen up to 303 rear-wheel horsepower on automatics,” said Avina. “Manuals get a little more – 317 horsepower. These results are from tests at sea level and using 91 octane gasoline.”

Testing on the E-Force has been extensive. “We’ve ensured the supercharger system meets all specifications for fitment and calibration,” said Avina.
You might be wondering if these superchargers will only help in the top end of the power band, but Avina stated otherwise. “Since we use a Roots-style supercharger, it’s more helpful down low,” he said. “It’s still helpful on the top end, too. It carries through the RPM range.”
Included in the system is everything needed to make the supercharger successful – a new filter, injectors, programmer, gaskets, intercooler, and so on. And installing the system, while it may look daunting, requires only a moderate mechanical background. “We recommend this as a two-man job,” said Avina. “It will take up to 12 hours to complete, but taking your time with the installation will pay off in the end.”
The stage 1 system includes everything seen here, and is emissions-legal in all 50 states. It includes tunes for 91 and 93 octane gasoline and is intended for stock JKs.
The E-Force can go on any JK, but steps should be taken to make sure it’s ready for it first. “Provided it’s a mechanically sound vehicle, our supercharger system will go right to work,” said Avina. “If it’s a higher-mileage vehicle, we would recommend a tune-up to get it ready for the extra power.”
Equipped with an E-Force supercharger system, a modified JK is a force to be reckoned with off-road and on-road. To find out more, check out the Edelbrock website and Facebook page.
