Out of the Shadows: Lunar Edition 2026 Ram 2500 Power Wagon and Rebel Are Back

There’s something poetic about unveiling a pair of lunar-themed heavy-duty trucks during a total lunar eclipse. While the moon slipped into Earth’s shadow, Ram pulled the covers off the returning Lunar Editions of the 2026 Ram 2500 Power Wagon and 2500 Rebel—two of the most trail-capable ¾-ton rigs on the planet, now dressed for a night mission.

The Lunar Edition package brings a space-inspired aesthetic to trucks that already have a reputation for going where others won’t. Finished in Ceramic Grey Clear-Coat with a Diamond Black Crystal Pearl-Coat lower body, both models strike a bold, monochromatic tone. A color-matched Ceramic Grey grille surround replaces the standard Satin Black, sharpening the look up front. Gloss Black Lunar graphics and black wheels—17-inchers on the Power Wagon and 20-inch wheels on the Rebel—complete the celestial theme with just the right amount of attitude.

Ram says the idea is simple: give customers more of what they already love, wrapped in a customized appearance that stands out whether you’re on the trail or rolling into camp after dark. Mission accomplished.

Space-Inspired Style, Trail-Ready Substance

Open the door and the Lunar treatment continues. Ultra-premium Natura Plus Black leather bucket seats, embossed with either the Power Wagon or Rebel logo, set the tone. The real showstopper, though, is the new Copperhead Orange contrast stitching. It runs across the seats, instrument panel, dashboard and door trim, then extends to the steering wheel, grab handles and even the column shifter. It’s the kind of detail that feels at home in a high-end performance build yet still tough enough for muddy boots and dusty gloves.

A unique alloy center console badge, finished in black with machined-face Satin Chrome lettering, reminds you this isn’t your average heavy-duty. Practicality hasn’t been overlooked either. Each Lunar Edition includes an integrated Mopar lockable console safe, giving you a secure place to stash valuables when the trailhead parking lot looks a little too crowded.

Underpinning the Lunar Edition package is the Level 2 Equipment Group, which means these trucks are loaded. A massive 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen anchors the dash, joined by a 10.25-inch front passenger interactive display and a 17-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. Power-adjustable pedals, rain-sensing wipers, LED bed lighting, a spray-in bedliner and a deployable bed step round out the mix. The Power Wagon adds a bumper-integrated WARN Zeon-12 winch rated at 12,000 pounds and Mopar rock rails, while the Rebel counters with power-deployable running boards.

And yes, every Ram Heavy Duty still offers class-exclusive heated power convex trailer tow mirrors with power-folding, power-telescoping and memory functions.

Power Wagon: Old-School Muscle, Modern Articulation

The Power Wagon name has meant serious off-road hardware since 1945, and the 2026 model carries that torch proudly. Beneath its sport performance hood sits the legendary 6.4-liter HEMI V-8, pumping out 405 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough for up to 1,570 pounds of payload and 10,590 pounds of towing capability.

What truly separates the Power Wagon from the pack is its factory hardware. A front disconnecting sway bar and front and rear electronic locking differentials are class-exclusive in the segment. Add in 33-inch off-road tires, a factory two-inch lift and the Articulink front suspension with high-movement joints, and you’ve got extreme articulation straight from the showroom floor. With the Lunar Edition’s stealthy colorway and blacked-out details, it looks ready for a night run across the desert.

The 2026 Ram 2500 Power Wagon Lunar Edition starts at $86,385 including destination, with the $1,995 Lunar package adding a heavy dose of personality to an already purpose-built machine.

Rebel: Diesel Torque For Days

If your idea of off-road fun includes dragging a toy hauler deep into the backcountry, the 2500 Rebel Lunar Edition might be your moonshot. Powered by the available 6.7-liter Cummins High-Output turbo diesel I-6, the Rebel delivers 430 horsepower and a staggering 1,075 lb-ft of torque.

That kind of grunt translates to serious numbers: up to 3,300 pounds of payload and up to 19,890 pounds of towing capability. Underbody skid plates protect the fuel tank and transfer case, while aggressive 34-inch off-road tires and a rear ELocker differential help keep traction when the terrain gets loose. The class-exclusive link-coil rear suspension comes standard, and available automatic-leveling rear air suspension keeps things composed when you’re maxed out on payload or tongue weight.

The 2026 Ram 2500 Rebel Lunar Edition starts at $93,885 including destination, with the same $1,995 Lunar package cost. Like every 2026 Ram, it’s backed by a 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, adding peace of mind to the performance.
