The off-road world is filled with exceptional vehicles, from race-ready UTVs and Ultra4 rigs to souped-up pre-runners and Baja champions, but every once in awhile you come across a vehicle that you just can’t get out of your mind. When we saw this awesome pre-runner built by Magnuson Superchargers in a recent news release from Method Race Wheels, it stuck in our mind and we wanted to know more. So we contacted Magnuson, who lead us to one of its team members and the truck’s proud owner, Customer Service Representative Thomas Stevens, to give us the scoop on this fine red beast!
Stevens’ pre-runner is built from a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2WD pickup with a 5.3L V8 engine. Topping off the engine, the truck features a Magnuson Supercharged TVS 1900 Radix Kit for extra power, as well as an AEM cold air intake and failsafe gauge, Magnaflow exhaust and an Odyssey battery.
Giving the truck its mighty pre-runner stance is a Ready Lift Mid-Travel kit with the rest of the suspension consisting of FOX 2.5 coilovers up front and 2.5 bypasses in the rear with FOX bump stops. All of the suspension components were installed by Rebel Off Road, which is the truck’s install sponsor.
Underneath the FOX-fueled suspension, you’ll find a set of Mesh Matte Black wheels from Method Race Wheels wrapped in Falken Tire Wild Peak A/T 35×18-inch tires.
Added amenities on the Magnuson pre-runner are a 3500 Race Runner Series Tiregate setup, Fiberwerx fenders and bedsides, a Kicker Audio system, SPod switch panel and a plethora of Rigid Industries components, including rock lights, a black mesh grille, a Q2 dually light set, a 50-inch combo light and a 30-inch combo light.
This pre-runner is meant to stand out, and with all the goodies from industry-leading companies, we think it does a mighty fine job of doing that.
Be sure to keep an eye out for this insane Silverado at Southwestern and Baja off-road events, and give Stevens a thumbs-up for owning one awesome truck!
