In the world of high performance off road racing, there are many styles and disciplines for competitors and enthusiasts to get involved with. While some may love the wide-open and high speed nature of desert racing, others may prefer a combination of high speed mixed with low speed technical driving and migrate toward something like Ultra4 racing. For the diehard competitor, the lure of short course racing with its door to door racing environment can be the ultimate arena to prove their might behind the wheel.
If short course racing is your bag, baby, then look no further than the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) and their high flying, door to door action. Taking place predominantly in California, Arizona, Utah, and Nevada for the past several years, the LOORRS sanctioning body was looking to spice things up in 2015 and have done so in a BIG way – with a race in Baja.
For those new to off road racing, Baja is home to one of the world’s most grueling races, the Baja 1000. While the Baja 1000 is not part of LOORRS, the significance here is that Baja and off road racing go together like peanut butter and jelly – they are made for one another and have a long, successful, history together.
LOORRS is branching out big time with their race at the Baja International Short Course at Estero Beach on August 1-2, 2015, a step that brings short course racing to the very heart of the off road culture, and at the same time makes LOORRS an international short course off road racing series. For more on the LOORRS series or to buy tickets for the highly anticipated race south of the border, check out their homepage and keep it locked on Offroad Xtreme for more!
