There are have been small leaks and photos of the JL Wrangler being tested all over the internet. Everybody wants to know everything about the new JL Wrangler. The JL Wrangler will debut at the LA Auto Show in the not so distant future, but the entire owner’s manual and users guide were leaked today thanks to JLWranglerForums. With the leak also came the first official photo of the JL Wrangler.
The photo that was leaked with the owners manual shows what appears to be a JL Wrangler Rubicon on the Rubicon trail. This photo gives us a good idea of how the JL will look in the real world. It should be noted, however, that the image is not exactly a real image. Looking at the shadows below the JL and the reflections on the paint, it becomes fairly obvious that this is a rendering.
Seeing the JK (left) and the JL (right) in the same photo really shows off the differences between them.
The owners manual reveals a couple of interesting things: towing capacity is unchanged from the JK for the 3.6-liter and 2.0-liter, fuel capacity has been slightly decreased, power sliding top is now confirmed and won’t be removable, four auxiliary switches can be optioned, diesel isn’t an option for this year, and the rear quarter windows are removable for the power top models. Much of this was already known, but the biggest thing to note is the power top which cannot be removed unlike the top on the JK Wrangler.
There was no real mention of the diesel meaning it won’t be available until next year, and may only be available in the JT Wrangler pickup truck. We look forward to seeing the JL Wrangler in person at the LA Auto Show.
