Justin Oquendo dominated the Southern Nevada Off-Road Enthusiasts (SNORE) 1450 Class in 2014 and nailed down the season championship at The Rage At The River at the Laughlin Events Park in Laughlin, Nevada. Including this final event, Oquendo scored more points than any other 1450 Class competitor in five of his six races during 2014. Oquendo’s speedy steed is a Kibbetech Racing-built Ford Ranger.
The Ranger is powered by a 418 ci LS3 V8 engine built by Mullenix Racing Engines. It uses a Holley HP EFI to control the powertrain, Holley fuel rails to supply fuel, and a Holley 95 mm throttle body to provide air, while Earl’s Performance Plumbing fittings, lines, and cooler work to keep the power steering system’s temperature under control.
When asked about the setup, Oquendo commented, “My Holley EFI system has been unstoppable! I have had zero issues in 22 months of use. Its self-tuning is amazing. We used to spend an entire day tuning, but now six to seven dyno pulls gets it where it needs to be.”
Justin Oquendo’s powerful Ford Ranger off-road race truck is an ideal proving ground for the Holley HP EFI, but it is also perfect for any performance use on vehicles ranging from street rods, drift cars, circle track cars, or drag cars.
