Bypass tube adjustments used to be the only way to get your shocks dialed in on big kid race shocks. On the other end of the spectrum, there were some vehicle-specific shocks that had built-in knob adjusters such as Rancho 9000s. As more and more consumers started begging race shock companies to build vehicle-specific shock kits, a huge hole was left open in adjustability.
FOX Shocks has stepped up once again to give the people what they want; FOX announced the expansion of the Dual Speed Compression (DSC) technology to now extend the product to direct-fit shock kits for Trucks and Jeeps. The clearly defined and marked 6061-T6 anodized aluminum knob kits can be added to just about any 2.5 smooth body or coil-over reservoir shock with a 7/8-inch shaft, which conveniently aligns with the Fox 3.0 Factory Series Coil-over Internal Bypass Ford SVT Raptor and 2.5 Factory Series Internal Bypass smooth body JK Wrangler shocks.
“The addition of DSC in a truck shock application provides added control and comfort tuning for on-road use while also offering more aggressive damping for use off-road.” FOX engineers say, “The adjuster allows for precise suspension tuning with the simple twist of two clearly defined knobs: No tools and no mess, just a way to easily fine-tune your suspension to best suit your needs in any conditions.”
With the click of a dial, the driver can adjust how the vehicle reacts to varying terrains and can easily switch back to another setting for a more comfortable drive home. The gold adjuster handles the slow compression movements utilizing 10 clicks of adjustment. This also affects wheel traction and the smoothness of the vehicle’s overall ride. The larger blue adjuster uses 12 clicks and handles medium to fast suspension movements such as whoops and harsh landings.
