If you’re someone who lives for the thrill of taming terrain behind the wheel of a four-wheeled vehicle, you already know off-roading is more than a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. But with great torque comes great responsibility. That’s why we’re excited to share that the Ford Performance Racing School is renewing its partnership with Tread Lightly!, the nonprofit championing responsible and sustainable motorized recreation across America’s outdoors.
Keeping the Trails Open for All
Tread Lightly! is on a mission to protect our public lands by educating off-roaders on how to ride responsibly. This renewed partnership means that every Raptor Assault participant at the Ford Performance Racing School will get more than just adrenaline-pumping driving, they’ll learn how to do it in a way that keeps trails open, terrain healthy, and future adventures possible.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with the Ford Performance Racing School,” said Evan Robins, Assistant Director of Programs at Tread Lightly!. “By embedding our ethics into their curriculum, Ford is helping us shape the next generation of responsible off-roaders.”
Performance with a Purpose
Whether you’re blasting across the desert in an F-150 Raptor or discovering the dynamic handling of the Explorer ST, these experiences are about pushing limits while respecting nature. The Ford Performance Racing School integrates Tread Lightly!’s principles into its training to help drivers understand that the freedom to roam comes with the responsibility to preserve.
“Ford Performance Racing School is proud to partner with Tread Lightly! to promote responsible off-road driving and environmental stewardship,” said Austin Robison, General Manager of Ford Performance Racing School – West. “We’re building a culture of performance with a purpose—one that empowers enthusiasts to enjoy the wild while protecting it.”
Training Grounds for the Modern Off-Roader
Courses take place in some of the country’s most scenic and challenging settings, Tooele and Park City, Utah, as well as Concord and Asheville, North Carolina. Through a mix of classroom insights and hands-on trail training, participants get a feel for the capabilities of their vehicle while also learning best practices for sustainable off-road fun.
From throttle control and obstacle negotiation to understanding trail etiquette, this is more than a driving school.
