The Troller Cup is a series of off-road rallies held in Brazil for the Ford Troller, a 4×4 vehicle about the size of the classic first-gen Bronco that we wish Ford would bring to the USA. First and foremost among its mechanical features sorely missing here in the “States,” with the exception of a single vehicle in its class, are beefy solid axles (that can be plainly seen in some of the photographs here).

A few weeks ago, a total of 83 Trollers participated in the event held in a region known as “Crater of the Moon” in Betim, Brazil, famous for its rock formations and extreme trails. This was the fifth stage of the rally regularly held exclusively for Ford Troller vehicles.

The competition was hot in all four classes (Masters, Graduates, Tourism, and Expedition), each class providing for different levels of driver and navigator experience. None-the-less, the off-road worthiness of the vehicle we are so envious of continues to be proven through its ability to handle the rugged rally courses laid out throughout the immense and diverse landscape of Brazil.

Enough teasing already. It’s bad enough that Ford discontinued the Bronco, but to taunt us with a vehicle so obviously loaded with the off-road mechanicals needed in a mid-size or compact sport-ute here in the USA such as the Troller, and keep it just out of reach is just plain mean.
