Good things usually come to those who wait! The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has been spotted in the wild, and lacks nothing that we believe it should not have. Good things also come in pairs and so did this spotting.

This truck is believed to be the mule for the next Raptor!

Ford did not produce a Raptor for 2015, and will not produce one next year for 2016. Why would they not want to make such a successful truck for two years? Long story short, it’s because they are making it better the second time around.

With the rumor mills floating around on what could be or what will be the next Raptor, we now have some proof and something to cause the internet to crash. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor was spotted and photographed by KGP Photography, and it showed two similar but different trucks.

The pictures show a wide body front and rear similar to the previous version of the Raptor, giving it the flared look. The trucks did have two different rear ends, as one truck had tires that were wider than the fenders and one that fit inside the fenders. This would lead us to believe that they will have different models of the Raptor, or it could even be as simple as wheel and tire offset. These shots did capture the Raptor running BFGoodrich’s new All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, which suggests they will come with BFGoodrich tires like the previous model.

With only pictures and no concrete evidence, we can only speculate what may or may not be there. The exhaust does appear to run out the back of the truck and have cutouts in the rear bumper, similar to the way the Dodge Ram is.

One thing we have known about the Raptor since Ford announced it at the Detroit Auto Show is that this model of the Raptor will have the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in it, making more than the 411 horsepower that today’s Raptor gets with its 6.2L V8.

Many people may be wondering why Ford is putting a different smaller cylinder motor in the truck, but the performance experts at SVT know what they are doing and know the type of vehicle they have. It would behoove them to continue on with the great success of the vehicle and the amazing truck it is.

From a side view, it does look like the new Raptors are already testing with the larger Fox Shocks. Fox had announced in January that they would be once again teaming up with Ford, creating a larger shock for the truck. The previous Raptors ran 2.5-inch body shocks, yet the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will be running 3-inch body shocks front and rear.

You may say, “Hey, that’s only a half an inch. It’s not that big of a deal.” In reality, a lot more technology and improved performance can come from the new shocks. The new shocks will also be able to obtain more wheel travel than the 11.2 inches up front and 12 inches in the rear that the current Raptor gets. More wheel travel? More comfort off-road!

“103 OCTANE FUEL ONLY”? Interesting…

We have no interior picture of the Raptor yet, so we can only go on the knowledge we have heard that there will be plenty of interior upgrades and LED technology all over the truck. The other big manufacturers have not caught up to the last Raptor and will sure be in the dust on this one as well.

With pictures and the bit and pieces of information that have come in recent months we can only start to believe that the all new 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor will be more impressive than it was before. From all the off road accolades that the previous version got the new version is sure to blow it out of the water.

For off road fans in general we sure will be sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for any and all information to come about the Raptor because it truly is an amazing off road vehicle straight from the factory.
