Best In The Desert is gearing up for 2019, and so should you! One of their first races for 2019 will be the storied Parker 425, which takes place in Parker, Arizona, near the border of California and Arizona.
BITD is letting race teams come in early on January 13th to do a “pre-fun run,” which just means prerunning the course to get a feel for what it will bring to the table. Following that, a draw day on the 16th will determine the starting positions for all racers.
Two weeks later, on the 31st, the real festivities will begin. Time Trials will be going on, as well as the “Downtown Experience,” which will have food, music, vendors, a show-and-shine, and more to get the spectators involved. The following day will be registration, tech and contingency, and a drivers’ meeting to go over rules and last-minute announcements.
Then, it’s race day, baby! On February 2nd, trick trucks, buggies, JeepSpeed, and more will prove themselves in the Sonoran Desert, and only after making it the whole way can they be given their just rewards at the banquet the following evening.
One more special tidbit about the 2019 Parker 425 is the return of the Parker Python. This is “a rough section of jumps in front of thousands of cheering spectators,” and will give drivers the chance to bash their rig and see how it does in the rough stuff.
We think the 2019 Parker 425 looks awesome and can’t wait to see who comes out on top. For more information, we recommend you head over to the Best In The Desert website.
