The Best in the Desert (BITD) Vegas to Reno race is the longest off-road race in the United States. The race will take place August 13 to 15, and run on a 545 mile race course, starting in Southern Nevada and ending south of Reno, Nevada.
Best In The Desert has in the last fourteen years reached for a new frontier in the sport of Off-Road Racing. Using promotion and advertising techniques previously reserved for high density spectator events, and combining them with both genuine concern for both racers needs and environmentalists input, Best In The Desert along with its competitors and sponsors now enjoy recognition and exposure never before seen in Off-Road Racing.
The staring line is in Beatty, Nevada, over 100 miles north of Las Vegas, Nevada. The course will have 14 different pit locations, with no one pit more than 60 miles from the last, enablingĀ the racers to be easily tended to if anything goes wrong.
The race starts at 9:30 am Friday, when the first Trick TruckĀ leaves the starting line. The finish line will close at 11 am on Saturday, with most of the faster classes finishing well ahead of that time.Ā Last years winner, Jason Voss, won the race with a time of eight hours and twenty-nine minutes.
