We all love movies, cars, and trucks; and even more so, movie cars and trucks, especially when they are souped up and driven by some of our favorite actors such as Tom Cruise in sci-fi films. You’ve probably seen all the flashy, fast and futuristic vehicles Cruise has driven in his many feature films, and although the vehicle featured here is not quite so animated, it’s no less interesting.
This customized Jeep Wrangler Sahara nearly runs over Tom Cruise in the one of the newest sci-fi films to hit the silver screen, Edge of Tomorrow. As we understand it, the customized Jeep Wrangler was built at the Chelsea Truck Company operated by British custom auto builder Ant-Kahn.
The company specializes in off-road vehicles, and this particular specimen is based on a diesel-powered Jeep Wrangler Sahara that features upgrades such as Kahn-designed wheels, upgraded brakes, satin exterior finish, privacy glass, crosshair headlights, and a custom grille.
A vehicle with a military look was needed for the film, and after one look at the CJ300 LE (A. Kahn Design’s specialty) the producers requested a Jeep designed for the part.
Whether you’re a Tom Cruise fan or not, we hear the Jeep has some great lines (or at least a good stunt or two) and as far as we’re concerned, any sci-fi movie is worth seeing once. So pass the popcorn!
