If you’re a fishing fanatic, 2019 is set to be one hell of an entertaining year, as Major League Fishing (MLF) gives 80 of America’s top anglers the chance to compete in a brand-new “MLF Bass Pro Tour.” The 2019 MLF Bass Pro Tour schedule includes eight events, which feed into four MLF Cup events and two Championships, with 80 anglers vying for thousands of dollars in prize money and 16 slots in the final Championships.
As a chief sponsor, Bully Dog knows that a properly tuned truck plays an integral role in a fishing enthusiast’s daily routine, hence the aftermarket brand helping make the 2019 MLF Bass Pro Tour a reality. By having a top-shelf performance programmer installed, fishermen can fine tune their truck in order to properly accommodate the towing of a boat. These performance tuners can also add horsepower and torque, improve throttle response, adjust speedometer readings for different tire sizes and axle ratios, and store up to 20 custom tunes.
Each event starts at 7:30am, with lines being pulled at 3:30pm that same day. While shotgun rounds allow two groups of 40 MLF pros to compete and advance, Days 3 and 4 are where elimination takes place, with the top 20 from each group advancing to a knockout round on Day 5. Although carryover weight gets combined with whatever is caught during elimination, the knockout round starts the remaining 20 competitors with a big fat zero at the start of the day.
From there, it’s on to the championship round, where the top 10 fishermen compete throughout the day to reel in the biggest bass. While the overall winner is slated to snag a hefty $100,000 purse, all 40 competitors are guaranteed some form of payout, as each individual in the bottom 75% of the bracket receives a $6,000 reward for their efforts. Oh, and let’s not forget that there is also a $1,000 “Big Bass Daily” payout, along with a $1,000 “Big Bass Overall” bonus.
In regard to checking out the action in person, spectators are welcome to watch the Postgame Show at the Bass Pro Tour set at 5pm each day, with admission being free of charge.
