Chevrolet has been all about their special edition trucks as of late, and have recently announced yet another one. The current special edition trucks feature the Special Ops, Midnight, Trail Boss, and Realtree, but there will soon be truck themed after California.
California is by far the largest midsize pickup market, with more midsize trucks sold in Los Angeles than the next two largest markets, combined. This special edition truck will only be available in the mid-size Chevy Colorado.
The truck was recently unveiled by pro-surfer Damien Hobgood. He was challenged to surf Huntington Beach, California in the morning and snowboard down Big Bear Lake’s slopes in the afternoon, a feat that not many states can offer.
“The new Colorado ignited the midsize pickup market, accounting for 74 percent of the growth in the segment in 2015,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet truck marketing director. “This year, we are continuing that momentum with the Shoreline edition designed specifically for customers in the segment’s biggest market.”

The Shoreline package will be offered on Colorado extended cab models in LT trim, with both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive versions. The special edition truck will only be available in Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Laser Blue, or Red Hot exterior colors.
The truck will also feature a body color grille, black trim for the door handles, mirrors and beltline, as well as black 18-inch wheels. “The Shoreline is a great example of our strategy to offer unique trucks designed for very specific customers,” said Piszar. “These trucks have clearly resonated with customers, as last year our special edition trucks sold in one-third the time, and to younger, more affluent buyers than the industry average.”
Chevrolet has been making a huge push on producing trucks that the market wants by listening to what consumers are saying. What do you think of the special edition trucks Chevy is bring to the showroom floor? Tell us in the comments below!
