Contrary to popular belief, electric trucks can go off-road. And they’re actually pretty good at it. When GMC debuted its new Sierra EV electric pickup it was offered only in the fully kitted and magnificently opulent Denali trim. Now, for 2026, the company is expanding the lineup with both the value-packed Elevation and off-road focused AT4 trims. We’re going to focus on the AT4.

Sierra AT4 Goes Electric

The 2026 GMC Sierra EV AT4 will bring the company’s legendary off-road capability, technology, and styling to the electric pickup segment for the first time. Sierra EV AT4 will come with an additional inch of lift from its coil spring suspension. The truck rolls on massive 35-inch all-terrain tires. And it will feature 2 inches of additional ground clearance (for a total of 10.04 inches) over Elevation models. Sierra EV AT4 will also feature the trim-exclusive Terrain drive mode, which is designed to provide precise off-road vehicle control through the use of one-pedal drive and automatic braking.

Also standard is four-wheel steering with the company’s innovative CrabWalk mode. Super Cruise hands-free driving assist is also standard (however, an OnStar subscription will eventually be required to retain functionality). AT4 also features red front tow hooks, a front skid plate, and red illuminated “GMC” front badge. The MultiPro MidGate expandable bed is available.

And AT4 Premium package will also be available. Selecting this option makes the MultiPro MidGate standard, along with a panoramic glass roof and the 10.2-kW Energy Transfer Pro system. For just an additional $695 adding the Premium package is a no-brainer.

More Battery Options For Great Range

Two battery sizes are available for the GMC Sierra EV AT4: Extended Range and Max Range. EPA figures aren’t yet available. However, we expect the Extended Range to offer about 440 miles of range while the Max Range will bump up to about 460. Charging at up to 800 volts and 350-kW is available, which can add as much as 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes.

All GMC Sierra EV AT4 pickups feature the company’s dual-motor design. This combination produces 625 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque from the Extended Range battery. Opting for the Max Range pack boosts power to 724 hp with the same 775 lb-ft of torque. Maximum towing for any configuration of AT4 is 12,300 pounds.

How Do I Get A Sierra EV AT4?

The 2026 GMC Sierra EV AT4 starts at $81,395 (including the $2,095 destination charge) for models equipped with the extended range battery. Jumping up to the max range battery adds an additional $10,300 to the price for a total of $91,695 to start. Sierra EV AT4s are expected to arrive at dealers this summer.
