SCORE Trophy Truck

Few Mexicans have managed to take home the overall win at the SCORE San Felipe 250 is a four-wheeled vehicle. Alan Ampudia has just added his name to that distinguished list by dominating the 38th SCORE San Felipe 250 in his Ford Raptor Mason AWD Trophy Truck. Ampudia finished with an official time of 3 hours, 55 minutes, and 13 seconds. That put his average pace at a blistering 63.77 mph. The win earned Ampudia a special $10,000 bonus from King Shocks for taking the overall win while using the company’s product.

Luke McMillin finished second overall driving his Chevy 1500 Mason AWD Trophy Truck with a time of 3:56:02, less than a minute off Ampudia’s pace. Rob MacCachren finished third overall driving the number 11 Chevy Silverado Jimco Fastball Racing Trophy Truck with a time of 3:56:13.

“It was a fun day. We had a good run,” said Luke McMillin. “We got shuffled back at the beginning and lost some time and a couple positions, but we made it all back and kept pushing.”

Pro UTV Open

Brock Heger celebrated yet another victory as part of the Polaris Factory, SCI Motorsports, team at San Felipe. Heger previously notched wins at the SCORE Baja 1000 and the Dakar Rally. Pro Moto Unlimited

It’s not just trucks and buggies racing through the wilds of Baja, some of the most exciting competition comes out of the two-wheel classes. At the end of the 250.6-mile course it was the Slam Life Racing team that took home the win. Sharing riding duty on the 7x Honda CRF450X were Tyler Lynn, Carter Klein, and Ryan Surratt. The riders complete the course in a time of 4 hours 49 minutes and 3 seconds at an average speed of 51.89 mph. This also marked Honda’s 25th overall victory at the San Felipe 250.

“It started off really good. Tyler started and rode really well through the dust and got us into first physical place and handed me the bike clean,” said co-rider Carter Klein. “I rode it to race mile 210 and handed it to Ryan and he brought it home. We had a little tip-over, but nothing major, I got right up. I had a few rock sections that were pretty fun. The day went super smother and we are stoked.”

Arturo Salas Junior of Tecate, Baja California, Mexico, finished second overall in the Pro Moto Unlimited class riding the Hero Racing 1x Honda CRF450X. Salas was supported by Shane Logan and Ciaran Naran.
