Are you eyeballing a new GMC Yukon? If so, you’ll probably be interested to know that GMC has unveiled the first-ever AT4 Ultimate package for the 2025 model year. The release of the new package celebrates the fifth anniversary of GMC’s AT4 sub-brand and enhances the power, tech, and luxury of the SUV. Read on for the details of the 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate.
Yukon AT4 Overview
GMC says the AT4 package is “For those looking to push the boundaries in premium off-roading.” The current (2024 model year) GMC Yukon and larger Yukon XL equipped with the AT4 package include the AutoTrac two-speed transfer case, an approach angle of nearly 32 degrees, and all-terrain tires. Additionally, a front skidplate, high-capacity air filter, and hill descent control. AT4-equipped Yukons and Yukon XLs can have an available air-ride adaptive suspension, a 6.2L V8 engine, and an Active Response 4WD System with an electronic limited-slip rear differential.
2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate
The new 2025 model year AT4 Ultimate capitalizes on the AT4 features and equipment, but it includes several items that are optional on the standard AT4. Also, it has package-specific items. For example, the AT4 Ultimate is infused with the four-corner air ride adaptive suspension. This system can raise the vehicle up to 2 inches to improve off-road ground clearance. The package will also include the dual-pane panoramic sunroof, SuperCruise hands-free driver assistance technology, and 18-speaker Bose sound system. Also, an Obsidian Rush interior with three rows of full-grain leather seating. The new unique leather seat style has an open pore wood décor and a steering wheel with leather rim accents. The AT4 Ultimate also gets a unique grille finish, dual exhausts, special badging, and more.
More Powerful Engine, Diesel Option
The AT4 Ultimate comes standard with the direct-injection 6.4-liter V8 engine. This engine produces a solid 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This is a welcome power increase over the Yukon’s 5.3-liter V8 that comes standard on the 2024 Elevation and AT4. The 5.3-liter makes 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, note that you can option the AT4 Ultimate with the 3.0-liter Duramax turbodiesel (available in late spring of 2025). It makes 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque. Like the gassers, it’s bolted to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Assembled In Texas
Duncan Aldred, Global Vice President, Buick and GMC, says, “We’re raising the bar on what our customers expect from GMC’s flagship and the addition of the AT4 Ultimate trim fuses ruggedness and capability with craftsmanship and refinement.”
We appreciate that GMC is offering a fullsize SUV with an off-road-focused equipment package, powerful V8 engine, and a two-speed transfer case. It’s a combination that just works.
The 2025 GMC Yukon AT4 Ultimate will be assembled in GM’s Arlington, Texas plant. Finally, it will be available by the end of 2024.
