There are many more features than just 10, of course, but here are 10 features that were designed into the Ford F-150 to make the new truck all that much better for customers without them even realizing it. These are features that F-150 engineers thought would fulfill your F-150 pickup truck driving experience:
Hard Button Keypad
Sure, smooth buttons are sleek and nice, but pickup drivers often wear gloves, so hard buttons are a welcoming feature. Also, those who wear any eyewear such as bifocals don’t have to lean back to see what numbers they are pressing, they can input the information by touch.
Front Door Beltline Armrest
Wide window beltlines offer a comfortable beltline even with the window rolled up. The center armrest sits at the same height.
Holding Inside Door/Door Handle
When grabbing the inside door handle, the door is also held as well. Great for those windy days.
Cluster of Buttons
All of the lighting buttons including headlamps, side spotlights, and bed light are grouped together on the left-hand side of the instrument panel. On the left is the radio controls with the bottom featuring the control buttons. Towing and other buttons are on the right.
Steering Wheel Finger Indents
Competitor’s trucks steering wheels are now smooth, but the F-150 still features finger indents on the back side of the steering wheel for better grip and feel.
MyView Screen Customization
People buy pickup trucks for various reasons. Now there is a way to customize the eight-inch instrument cluster screen to include information most important to the driver called MyView. This allows your seven favorite gauges on the cluster at one time.
Center Stack Entertainment
“Our customers were adamant that trucks are different from cars, and vehicle information is essential,” Diehl explained. “Their truck is their tool, and they need to know what it’s doing. Other stuff can be in the center of the dashboard, or what we call the center stack.”
Four-spoke steering wheel
The traditional steering wheel is a four-spoke design with a comfortable grip on the lower portion of the steering wheel. Most other pickup trucks feature a closed-off bottom portion.
Grooves in tailgate handle
What better way than to improve grip on the handle and allow it to open with just one hand.
Box Step
The box step is large enough for a full-sized work boot to fit. It can be pushed back under the bed when not utilized. So there you have it.
