Whether on the daily drive, headed home from a day on the lake, or heading out on your latest trail adventure, your vehicle’s clutch is getting a workout. The engineers at Centerforce know what it takes to make a long-lasting clutch that will endure the rigors of off-roading, towing, and the daily grind. Even better, they understand how to improve a clutch’s holding power while providing smooth engagement and light pedal effort.
Centerforce clutch kits are specifically engineered for enthusiasts looking for the ultimate on and off-road performance clutch. Using centrifugal weights and Centerforce’s patented machining processes allows for superb holding power and maximum clutch life while also having exceptional street characteristics without sacrificing pedal effort. We spent a few minutes speaking with the folks in the Centerforce booth about the company’s new clutch kits for Jeeps and Toyota Tacoma vehicles.
Centerforce II And Dual Friction Clutches
Centerforce II clutches are designed to distribute pressure plate clamping force evenly over a 360-degree friction material which is the same on both sides of the clutch disc. This gives the Centerforce II clutches an excellent holding capacity while still providing smooth operation.
Centerforce’s Dual Friction technology goes one step further and uses a segmented friction facing on one side of the clutch disc. This concentrates the clutch’s clamping pressure which increases the clutch’s holding capacity even more.
2018-2022 Jeep Wrangler JL / 2020-2022 Jeep Gladiator JT
Centerforce informed us they are now offering both the Centerforce II and Dual Friction clutch kits for the 2018-2022 Jeep Wrangler JL and the 2020-2022 Jeep Gladiator JT with 3.6-liter V6 engines. The clutch kits feature a high-inertia, billet steel flywheel, and a 10.4-inch single disc, replacing the OEM dual-mass flywheel and smaller twin disc. The upgraded clutch has a 37-percent inertia increase over the factory unit, which helps the engine maintain RPM better while traveling over rough terrain.

Toyota Tacoma 2005-2015 4.0L / 2016-2022 3.5L
Centerforce also offers both Centerforce II and Dual Friction clutch kits for Toyota Tacoma trucks with either the 4.0-liter or 3.5-liter engines. Both kits are offered with or without a billet steel flywheel. Centerforce II clutch kits feature an organic material-lined, 11-inch clutch disc with a sprung hub. Centerforce II clutch kits for the Tacoma are rated at 406 pound-feet of torque, and the dual-friction clutches up that number to 437 pound-feet of torque capacity. Clutch kits come with the clutch disc, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, bolts, and an alignment tool for easy installation.
