One of the best visits during our time spent at the 2013 SEMA Show was in the Sport Truck USA booth. This is the parent company of BDS Suspension, Zone Offroad Products, JKS Manufacturing, and 4×4 Posi-Lok. We learned about the different companies under the Sport Truck USA banner, and talked to Carter Reed, media and P.R. specialist about some new products.
BDS Suspension has been around for quite some time and was created to offer the highest quality aftermarket suspension lift kits, leveling kits and accessories for 4×4 off-road trucks and Jeeps. Zone Offroad has spent more than 20 years designing and building quality off-road products at a competitive price.
For the Jeep enthusiast, JKS has been the place to go since 1989 for top-notch accessories; starting when, according to Reed, “the company pioneered the original Quick Disconnect brand of quick-release anti-sway bar disconnects.” And 4×4 Posi-Lock is a cable device that is a mechanical replacement for the OR vacuum- and electric-actuated engagement systems for front axle lockers.
The most exciting news from the company, however, may be the new suspension lift kits coming down the pipeline from BDS Suspension for the 2013/2014 Ram pickup.
“New for the 2013 Ram 3500 and 2014 Ram 2500 are suspension kits designed especially to meet the needs of these trucks and there specific suspension designs. Drop down brackets are used to keep suspension geometry correct, as well as coil mounts to avoid using too-tall coils that would bow outward in the case of the higher-lift kits,” said Reed.
The 2013 Ram 3500 front radius-arm, rear leaf-spring suspension kit will soon be offered in 4-, 6- and 8-inch lifts. Also soon to be released will be front radius-arm, rear 4-link coil suspension kits in 4-, 6- and 8-inch lifts for the 2014 Ram 2500.
