Compared to a traditional 6-inch coilover lift, the portal system achieves more height where it matters and far fewer drawbacks.

To complement the portals, the truck runs 37-inch tires mounted on forged Method 207 wheels developed alongside 74Weld. Thanks to the portal reduction, the truck drives like it’s still on factory tires— no hunting for gears, no need to re-gear the differentials, and no loss of around-town composure.
On the trail, the combination of 37s and hub-level lift gives the truck astonishing clearance. Obstacles that would snag a standard midsize truck barely register beneath this one, and despite the larger rubber, the center of gravity remains lower than on a traditional tall-lift build.

Portal boxes do introduce unsprung weight, but 74Weld accounted for it with larger brake rotors, stronger full-float rear axle shafts, and a steering system engineered to handle the additional leverage of taller tires. Even so, the truck retains precise steering and braking performance — proof that geometry and engineering discipline matter far more than simply adding height.

Bodywork, Packaging, And Practical Clearance
To fully utilize the extra travel and tire size, the truck features subtly reshaped fenders, aggressive flares, and integrated rock sliders. The modifications are functional, ensuring full bump and full steering clearance without compromising factory sheetmetal integrity. Much of the truck’s added height is beneath the suspension, so it retains a planted stance and predictable manners on pavement.

GFC Camper And Real-World Usability
Mounted in the bed is a GFC V2 Pro camper, giving the truck legitimate overland capabilities without adding unnecessary weight. This keeps the center of gravity tight and complements the portal system’s advantages, allowing the Raptor to serve as both a desert runner and a minimalist adventure rig. Unlike many show builds, this truck is used regularly and tuned for real-world travel — not just convention-floor photography.
