Winches are vitally important tools of the off-road trade. Whenever you’re in a jam, they’re your one ticket out of Troubletown, whether it’s a thick mud bog or a high-centering rock. Superwinch, under the Westin umbrella, now offers the SX Series winch, aimed at off-roaders who want more out of a winch.
We spoke with Westin’s Marketing Coordinator David Herrera to learn more about this new winch series. “We wanted to launch a new winch under the new ownership of Westin and show the world Superwinch is back and stronger than ever,” he said. “What’s more, the SX Series offers more features than our competitors and and at a more affordable price.”
Functionality is at the heart of the SX Series. These are highlighted in the features, including a patented drum light and relocatable control box. “These features came from our off-road enthusiasts,” explained Herrera.
“The drum light comes in handy when wheeling at night and lets users see how much rope they have left on the drum,” Herrera continued. “It also lets users make sure the line is spooling up nicely when retracting the cable. As for the relocatable control box, this gives users greater options for mounting the winch. Most bumpers limit what winches will work, but ours can mount the control box separately and thus improve fitment.”
With its versatile fitment and illumination, as well as 10,000-pound and 12,000-pound options, the SX Series winch is sure to be a great addition to any 4×4. Be sure to check out the Superwinch website to find out more information, and don’t forget to follow Superwinch on Facebook, too.
