SEMA 2017 – The sights, the smells, and the sounds are here in force. Adding to the glitz and glamour is VooDoo Off-Road and its soft shackle. For a lightweight yet strong recovery product, the soft shackle is one that every off-roader should consider.
Speaking with Jerry Young, we were able to learn a great deal about the soft shackle. “This is a half-inch by eight-inch opening soft shackle that we produce,” he said.

The ways a soft shackle can be used are what make it such a cool tool for off-roading. “The benefits of this shackle are as an attachment point for recovery ropes or straps that a user might have,” he said. “It provides users a means to attach a closed loop style rope up to whatever vehicle attachment point needed.”
Demonstrating the rope’s utility, Young inserted the knotted end into the opposite, open end and pulled the shackle against a clevis. “This end opens up like a noose, the knot slides through it, it closes back up, and your attachment is made,” explained Young. “There’s no parts to pull out or pins to lose. It’s all one unit that stays together.”
As a recovery tool, the soft shackle would make for a great addition to any off-roader’s arsenal. Check out more from VooDoo Off-Road on its website.
