Nexen Tire is a South Korea-based tire company that’s been in the business for more than 70 years. It has been making great strides in expansion and technology since its founding, and received a few awards along the way, including the Korea Good Design Award and Red Dot Design Award, and we’re here to give you a few reasons to consider them for your next tire buy.

IMG_1047The booth had a great deal of tires on display, and we spoke to Rick Mustion, a sales manager for the company, who helped us understand the finer points of the company’s new light truck and SUV offerings.

Mustion focused on the Roadian AT PRO RA8, telling us it was available in a variety of sizes ranging from 15-20 inches, and discussing some of its features including dual-block design, which prevents build-up of debris and self-cleans the tread blocks for sustained grip. This goes for whether your driving on- or off-road. Micro-grooves serve to enhance traction on paths besmirched by water, mud or snow.

What’s more, a staggered center rib enhances the reinforced biting edges and strong block stiffness. There’s even a wide shoulder block to provide stability and durability on all manner of pathways, alleviating long drives over many types of terrain.

In other news, Nexen Tire is happy to announce an OEM agreement with the Chrysler group. “Next year, we’ll be OE-approved for the Ram 2500,” Mustion said.

Check it out for yourself by visiting the company’s website and Facebook page. SEMA 2013 may be winding down, but there’s still more to see. We’ll keep you posted.
