Dale Brisby turned his property near Nashville, Tennessee, into a mud pit for the first-ever Can-Am Derby 2025. The idea was simple: take a bunch of professional racers and throw them against a team of ranchers to see who could handle a Can-Am Defender best.

Mud, Sweat, and Gears
The course was designed to break these machines. Drivers had to navigate Dirtzilla, a steep incline that became a slip-n-slide, and a rock quarry that ate tires for lunch. The mud was deep, sticky, and relentless. But the real curveballs were the ranch challenges. This wasn’t just about lap times; drivers had to stack hay bales without dropping them in the Bailout section and drag a weighted tractor through the slop. It was less about pure speed and more about keeping the machine moving when the track tried to swallow it whole.

Chaos At The Can-Am Derby 2025
The bracket style racing created some wild matchups. Early on, MLB superstar Bryce Harper found out the hard way that logs are unforgiving, getting stuck and knocked out of competition. But the real drama happened in the semi-finals. Pro racer Dustin Battle Axe Jones went up against Kyle Cullen and decided winning was more important than being polite. During the tractor pull, Jones hopped out and unhooked Cullen’s rope. It was a dirty move, but since the rulebook didn’t say he couldn’t touch the other guy’s setup, he got away with it and advanced to the finals.

The Rancher Takes The Lead
The final showdown was a five-lap brawl between Jones and Texas rancher Tucker Brown. Jones looked like he had it in the bag, building a solid lead early. Then he messed up. In the hay bale section, he rushed it and dropped two bales off his bed. He had to run back on foot to retrieve them, and that mistake cost him everything. Brown didn’t waste the chance. He hammered his Defender through the rocks, literally driving the tailgate off his machine, and crossed the finish line first.

Taking Home The Defender
Tucker Brown proved that farm work is the best driver training you can get. He beat the pros at their own game and drove home with the title and a brand-new Defender HD11. The intensity of the Can-Am Derby 2025 showed that while pro racers might have the speed, sometimes you just need a rancher’s grit to get the job done when the mud gets deep.
