As if the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) wasn’t exiting enough this year, with new trucks and new drivers flooding its ranks, now two new announcements have made things even better. First, the Wild West Motorsports Park in Reno, Nevada, where a race was already scheduled, will host two Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series events this summer, giving northern Nevada racing fans double the action. In addition, the races will be held under the lights at night, harkening back to the old-school Friday and Saturday night racing that takes place in towns all across America.

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series announced that Wild West Motorsports Park will host a new weekend of races on May 30 through June 3, 2014, in addition to the race already planned for August 22-23. This is the third year in a row Wild West Motorsports Park has hosted a Lucas Oil Off Road race, but the first time there have been two races in one season.

“We’ve been received very well in the northern Nevada community,” said Ritchie Lewis, Lucas Oil Series Director. “We’re very thankful for that. We have a huge investment in the Wild West Motorsports Park and enjoy our partnership in Reno.”

The 10,000-seat Wild West Motorsports Park opened in 2012, and is the only track in northern Nevada on the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Wild West is known for being one of the fastest and most exciting tracks on the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series circuit. The Park is located about 10 minutes east of downtown Reno, just off Interstate 80.

“This is huge news for race fans in northern Nevada,” said Norm Dianda, chairman and founder of Q&D Construction, who owns Wild West Motorsports Park. “We’re proud to host the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series not only once but twice.”
