Hopefully the new owner will like the “Altitude” sticker that is right in the middle of their door.

Car dealerships are in the business of selling cars and making money. While most buyers assume that selling cars is a dealership’s only source of revenue, the fact of the matter is that there are typically numerous avenues in which they make money – one of which can be through customizing vehicles. Over the past decade, it has became increasingly popular for dealerships to take a couple of their vehicles in inventory and add a few medications to them (lift, tires, wheels, graphics, etc) in an effort to offer a “customized” vehicle to potential buyers and make a (hefty) profit margin on the cost of the parts and labor. It is a sound business model that makes great sense for the dealership and can be mutually beneficial for a buyer who either doesn’t know how they want to customize their new ride, or who just wants a turnkey “custom” truck right off the dealership lot.

We here at Offroad Xtreme come across quite a few modified trucks on a daily basis, but very infrequently do they generate as much banter between staff members as did this Regular Cab 2014 F150 STX 4×4 that has been customized and is being sold to the public as new. While we all really like the outgoing-generation of F150s, half of us dislike this particular truck and half of us liked it. In the dislike corner, the lack of a tailgate, the randomly placed door/window stickers and badges, the huge lift combined with relatively small tires that lead to huge amounts of open wheel well, and the general lack of vision of this truck were all top of the list – especially when considering the price tag of $41,299.

In the other corner, the color-matched fender flares, style of the wheels, and dual exit exhaust were the highlights of the truck. We went back and forth with this one which lead us to see what our readers thought. So, do you find this truck to be hot or not? Let us know in the comments section below!
