The Ford 9-inch housing is one of the most popular off-road housings, something even the Chevy guys get a kick out of, and Yukon Gear and Axle has a new locking differential for Ford 9-inch owners.
Although its line of Zip Lockers has been out for some time, they Ford 9-inch Zip Locker is an air-operated locking differential with 4320 internal gears for maximum strength. It is housed in a 8620 case and is made in the U.S.
“The Ford 9-inch Zip Locker is available in 28, 31, and 35 spline axles. These lockers all come with a two-year collateral damage warranty. This means if the unit breaks for any reason we will cover up to $2,000 worth of related expenses,” said Dale Coulson of Yukon Gear & Axle.
“This could be applied to labor, towing, bearings, or gears, we will cover it. We do not have any exclusions as far as racing or competition. We offer a six-year warranty on the unit itself. For an additional cost we do have a lifetime warranty available,” Coulson continued.
Having a product and the backing from a company, and knowing that if something happens on the trail you are covered, gives a real reassurance when out having fun.
Yukon also has a nodular Dana 60 differential cover that is U.S.-made. The cover has a drain and fill plug that is over 3/8-inch thick, has fill and drain plugs, and can withstand the beating against rocks on the trail.
