Rigid Industries is at it again. As serious innovators in the LED lighting market, Rigid has constantly pushed the boundaries of LED technology and even producing products we didn’t know we needed. Launching this September, Rigid industries is revolutionizing the light pod market with the new D-SS LED light.
“No More Blind Corners; RIGID’s all new D-SS offers 120 degrees of forward projecting light.” – Mitch Kistner, Rigid Industries. The D-SS, or Dually Side Shooter, features an up to 120-degree horizontal beam. What that means is, more of the side of the road will be lit up without having to point the light directly sideways. The increased width of the beam allows for better visibility of the side of the road or trail without having to sacrifice straight ahead distance. “The D-SS pod incorporates the same powerful optics and legendary LED technology as RIGID’s popular D-Series lights,” explains Mitch Kistner, a member of the Rigid Industries team,” but with the added benefit of additional LEDs aimed to the side for a much broader beam.”

The new light is built with the same great construction and durability of the legacy D-Series while only being 0.8-inches wider. The D-SS comes in a few different advanced optics options, Spot, Flood and Driving and can produce up to 3,096 raw lumens. Single light applications utilize two side shooting LEDs on both sides of each unit and pairs feature three on each side of the units. These lights are perfect for any application that requires a wide spread beam, including A-Pillars, for lights, motorcycle auxiliary lights and more.

Rigid’s new light features a lifespan of up to 50,000 hours, is built with an impact resistant lens and uses the GORE Pressure Equalizing Vent to keep the electronics inside from getting too hot. Additionally, the D-SS light is IP68 compliant, meaning it is globally recognized to be waterproof down to one meter of submersion. Each light kit comes with a wiring harness and switch for easy install in your rig.
Expect the new D-SS to be available in September. Head over to Rigid’s website for more information.
