ECD Automotive Design isn’t slowing down. If anything, the Florida-based builder is leaning harder into its vision of globally inspired, ultra-premium 4x4s with the continued rollout of its collaboration with the Chelsea Truck Company. Following the official announcement of their strategic alliance last November, ECD has unveiled the ECDxCTC Defender 02, a factory-new Defender 110 P525 V8.
Known as the world’s largest Land Rover and Jaguar restoration company, ECD Automotive Design has built its reputation on bespoke Defenders, Range Rovers, Jaguar E-Types, Ford Mustangs, Toyota FJs, and more recently the ECDxCTC INEOS Grenadier and Defender II. The Chelsea Truck Company collaboration builds on that foundation, injecting a distinct British design attitude that blends luxury, aggression, and modern performance into a single statement vehicle.

Chelsea Truck Company Design, ECD Execution
Finished in Carpathian Grey, Defender 02 immediately stands apart thanks to Chelsea Truck Company’s Series 2 Wide Track body kit. The widened arches give the modern Defender a far more muscular posture, especially when paired with 22-inch Type 52 RS wheels finished in Satin Black and wrapped in BFGoodrich Trail Terrain T/A tires.
Carbon fiber details elevate the visual drama without tipping into excess. An exposed carbon vented bonnet dominates the front view, while an oversized exposed carbon rear wing and gloss-finished rear roof wing add a motorsport-inspired edge. Overhead, the quad roof shield integrates LED lighting that feels purposeful rather than ornamental.

Supercharged V8 Performance With A Tunable Voice
Under the hood, Land Rover’s P525 supercharged 5.0-liter V8 delivers the kind of performance that justifies the Defender’s new attitude. ECD enhances the experience with a non-resonated V8 exhaust system featuring GT 90 black tips, developed with Milltek Sport. Active valve exhaust control allows the driver to tailor the soundtrack on demand, from subdued and refined to unapologetically loud, ensuring the Defender can match any environment or moment.

A Bespoke Interior To Match The Exterior Statement
Inside, the Defender maintains a premium, performance-focused atmosphere. Volcanic Black Defender 2 comfort leather wraps the cabin, accented by intricate 3D modular stitching that underscores the bespoke nature of the build. The result is an interior that feels cohesive with the exterior design, delivering modern luxury while preserving the Defender’s rugged, purpose-built character.

A New Era For The Modern Defender
According to ECD Automotive Design CEO Scott Wallace, Defender 02 perfectly captures the intent behind the partnership. “This ECD x CTC Defender represents exactly what this alliance was created to deliver,” Wallace said. “It combines Chelsea Truck Company’s signature design language with ECD’s execution, attention to detail, and client-first approach. This is just the beginning of what we’ll be building together.”
The debut of Defender 02 confirms that the ECD x Chelsea Truck Company alliance is far more than a one-off collaboration. Continued production is underway, with additional builds and expanded offerings planned across modern Defender platforms. Together, ECD Automotive Design and Chelsea Truck Company are setting their sights on vehicles that stand apart in the luxury 4×4 space, bold in design, confident in performance, and unmistakable in presence.
