Welcome to Off Road Xtreme, a new off-road website, webzine, or online magazine as many call it, and one of the newest in the growing Power Automedia family of online publications. No matter what it may be referred to, it’s a new venture and you may be wondering what to expect.
First of all, be assured you will find the latest in suspension, wheels/tires, accessories and performance equipment, and the highest level of expertise, and depth and breath in technical research and writing. The Off Road Xtreme tech writers have the experience and background to produce top-notch articles with clear and concise descriptions and illustrations. You will come away with a solid understanding of the subject as well as the resources to further your thirst for knowledge.
Project vehicles will be no different than the technical articles. Off Road Xtreme can draw upon a vast pool of experience, not only through our editorial staff, and our highly trained and professional mechanics, but from within the ranks of our Power Automedia sister sites.
We will also tap into experts around the off-road world, to help build awesome truck and 4×4 projects that will teach and amaze our viewers about creating their own incredible machines. We look forward to hearing what ideas you may have for us, too!
When it comes to racing and events, feature-vehicle coverage, lifestyle and personality profiles, Off Road Xtreme will deliver hardcore on-the-spot racing and trail rides, action-packed videos and insider news reports you just can’t get in a monthly magazine. You’ll see the dirt fly and hear engines roar! As to new vehicle reviews, we’ll give you the skinny and tell you what we really think about the latest trucks and 4x4s.
You’ll also get news about great products for your rig. New products that you can really use to make it run better, last longer and look better. Off Road Xtreme will also be your best source for breaking news about what’s happening in the off-road world. You’ll know what the latest trends are, where the best events are happening, the best shows, places to be, and things to do with your truck or 4×4.
Just how different will it be? The stories in Off Road Xtreme are not re-hashed or abbreviated from something you have already seen in a print publication weeks or even months ago. This is the latest information, new products, breaking events, and coverage of specialty equipment industry shows as it happens, and in many cases, brought to you live and on the spot!
How do you navigate Off Road Xtreme? It’s easy. When you log on to the website, you will see the home page with its Category Headers and Featured Article Rotator images. Below that will be The Latest Dirt, a listing of all the feature, tech and news stories that have recently been posted.
The most noticeable of these will no doubt be the largest images (that change every few seconds or “rotate”) in what we call the Featured Article Rotator. These are the primary feature and technical articles you can access by simply moving your cursor over the image or the article title and clicking on either of these once. Within a few moments after clicking on the large image or the article title, the full article will load for your reading pleasure.
Above those changing or “rotating” images are a row of Category Headers. As you move the cursor over some of those Headers, a “drop-down menu” will appear that you can move the cursor over in order to make a further, more in-depth selection.
For instance, as seen in the Feature section above, there are subheads such as Interviews, Editorials & Opinions, Ask The Experts and Truck Features. The Tech section includes subheads such as Tires & Wheels, Engine, Ignition, Electronics & EFI, as well as many others.
When you place the cursor over any of those subheads and click once, all the story files under that particular subhead will appear in a column within a few moments.
At that point you may move your cursor down the column of stories, and as the cursor floats over a photograph, or story title that grabs your interest and it changes color, you can click on either and within a few moments, that full story will be displayed for viewing.
One of the most exciting features of Off Road Xtreme is the Videos section. This is the single most significant aspect that sets it apart from all other off-road publications – the ability to bring you live action every single minute. No print publication can do that, and no online magazine does it as well as Off Road Xtreme!
It’s just that easy to access all the exciting, colorful and detailed information packed into every story found on Off Road Xtreme. Best of all, it’s totally free! Unlike print publications or some other pay-for-access websites, Off Road Xtreme is an online magazine you can fully access 24/7 as many times as you like without ever opening your wallet.
Off Road Xtreme also offers a free weekly Newsletter! It can be subscribed to simply by clicking on the pop-up offers that appear on the home page from time to time. The Off Road Xtreme Newsletter brings exciting new stories and video action into your e-mail Inbox every week, hassle-free!
Who is behind this new venture? Some very experienced hands. Those in the driver’s seat at Off Road Xtreme have been around the block, throughout this country, around the world, and playing in the dirt for a long time. Many of our contributors are from technical backgrounds and have been writing tech and feature articles about vehicles of every description for years, if not decades, and covering or competing in off-road events from Alaska to Maine to Baja California to Africa.
These are just a few of the many experienced people you’ll soon meet that will bring you the exciting, informative and engaging new online magazine – Off Road Xtreme.
Stay tuned! You have our word that the pages of Off Road Xtreme will be filled with step-by-step installation articles that can help you build new vehicles and make your current vehicle even better, show you the best new performance products and accessories to upgrade your rig, give you the low-down on new trucks and 4x4s, and will keep you up-to-date with the latest news about great places to go and things to do in the off-road world!
