Here’s An Easy Way To Up The Power Of Your 2021-2023 3.5-Liter EcoBoost-Powered Ford F-150

When you think of Whipple, you think of superchargers. After all, it was the first North American company to utilize the screw-type compressor for a production supercharger kit. However, Whipple offers a wide range of products in addition to superchargers. Example: The company offers the Stage 1 Performance Calibration for Ford 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6-powered 2021-2023 F-150 and F-150 Raptor trucks. The system punches up engine output by up to 60 horsepower and 80 pound-feet of torque. It also provides several other benefits. Read on for the details.

The Whipple Stage 1 For The Ford 3.5-Liter EcoBoost Is Dyno-Proven

The Whipple Stage 1 system for 2021-2023 EcoBoost 3.5-liter-powered Ford F-150 and F-150 Raptor trucks is an industry-leading calibration. The company, in collaboration with its Ford calibration team, applied significant effort and used advanced tools to develop the calibration. It optimizes power while adhering to legal and safety standards. The 2021-2023 3.5-liter engine (non-Raptor) has higher power levels than its predecessor. However, through extensive dyno and real-world testing across various environments, engineers achieved substantial improvements in torque and horsepower.

The Whipple Stage 1 Does More Than Increase Power

This Whipple upgrade, which meets all 50-state emissions regulations, offers a boost of up to 80 pound-feet of torque and an additional 60 horsepower. In terms of torque, Whipple says it starts to build at 2,000 rpm, and results in enhanced throttle response and more power throughout the rev range.

In stock form, the 2021-2023 3.5-liter F-150 V6 makes 400 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. With the Whipple Stage 1 system installed, horsepower is increased to 460, while torque jumps to 580. The high-output 3.5-liter V6 in the 2021-2023 Ford F-150 Raptor makes 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque in stock form. But adding the Whipple Stage 1 system increases that to 510 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Whipple notes that these are rear wheel power ratings with 93 octane fuel and power levels may vary depending on octane and conditions.

But there’s more to the Whipple Stage 1 Performance Calibration. In addition to the horsepower and torque increases, the calibration refines transmission shift points. This effectively harnesses the increased torque, significantly improving the driving experience. Furthermore, it provides the flexibility to adjust for tire and axle size changes. Additionally, the Tomahawk flash tool that’s included with the Whipple Stage 1 system can read and erase trouble codes and it has live data and data logging capabilities. The Tomahawk also simplifies the process of uploading and downloading Whipple files.

But that’s not all. The Whipple Stage 1 system increases turbo boost, it updates the pedal mapping, and it increases rpm shift points. It also disables auto stop-start and increases the speed limiter.

The Bottom Line

At time of publication, the Whipple Stage 1 Performance Calibration for 2021-2023 Ford F-150 and F-150 Raptor trucks has a price of $950.99. Whipple also offers a wide variety of other products to improve EcoBoost engine performance in 4×4 trucks and SUVs like the Bronco, F-150, Ranger, and Explorer. The collection of products includes cold air intakes, Mega Cooler intercoolers, and complete performance kits. For more information, visit Whipple’s website.
