Toyo Tires Help Menzies Motorsports Win NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally

It’s official: Menzies Motorsports and Toyo Tires have won the 2024 NORRA Mexican 1000 Rally Pro Cars category. As a press release from Toyo Tires News notes, this is the third consecutive win for the team.

The NORRA 1000 is over six days long and 1,300 miles of grueling Baja terrain.

The Happiest Race On Earth

The NORRA (National Off Road Racing Association) Mexican 1000 Rally is known as “The Happiest Race On Earth!” The event, founded in 1967, immerses participants in the offerings of Baja, including its food, drink, culture, and scenic beauty. Competitors in this event span a wide spectrum, ranging from off-road racing legends and current stars to adventure enthusiasts and avid Baja explorers. NORRA offers diverse classes accommodating various vehicle types. These include bikes, quads, UTVs, and 4-wheel vehicles ranging from vintage models to cutting-edge race cars. Additionally, the event features the Safari Baja Expedition, catering to those who wish to engage in the experience without competing.

The Baja terrain presented a formidable challenge for competitors and included sand, silt, and rocks.

Sand, Silt, And Rocks

The five-day rally commenced in Ensenada, Mexico. It presented a formidable challenge as drivers traversed the diverse terrain of the Baja California Peninsula before concluding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Negotiating through sand, silt, and rocky landscapes, Bryce Menzies and his father, Steve Menzies, engaged in a relentless battle throughout the entirety of the race. They relied on the championship-winning Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires to propel them to the finish line.

Looking Forward To Win Number Four

Following the win, Bryce Menzies said, “The NORRA 1000 is over six days long and 1,300 miles of grueling Baja terrain. It is one of the most fun races, with my dad performing much of the driving while I filled in for a few days. We won our third NORRA 1000 in a row, which is a huge achievement for the team, and everyone involved. We are looking forward to trying to win our fourth one next year.”

Bryce and Steve Menzies celebrated the third win, and have eyes on win four in 2025.

Inspiring Driving And Toyo Tires’ Performance

Stan Chen, Sr. Manager, Events, Sponsorships and Motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp, weighed in on the Menzies win. “Winning the 2024 NORRA Mexican 1000 Race again is a huge accomplishment for Menzies Motorsports and Team Toyo. It is incredibly difficult to win one desert race, let alone the same race in three consecutive years, and it’s a testament to the team’s inspiring driving and the performance of Toyo Tires’ products.”
