Read on for the details of the Apocalypse World Ender 6×6.
Remember These 6x6s?
There have been several memorable 6×6 vehicles in the off-road world over the last few decades. For example, in 1997 Dodge unleashed the V10-powered, dual transfer case-equipped, T-Rex 6×6 pickup truck. Unfortunately, the beast didn’t go into production. However, it was the catalyst for a gent named Stan Prueitt to build his own 6×6 based on a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 regular cab pickup truck. The truck was featured in several off-road publications. Prueitt went on to prove that it was built stout when he piloted the truck in a brutal, multi-day off-road competition in 2004. Later, he built a Wrangler-based 6×6 that also garnered lots of attention. Another memorable 6×6 is the Cummins 4BT-powered 1942 Dodge WC-63 Power Wagon that was custom-built for a customer by Legacy Classic Trucks. It was a work of art that placed a 1946 Dodge Power Wagon cab and bed on a 6×6 chassis.
About The World Ender 6×6
Apocalypse Manufacturing is well known for kicking out incredible 6×6 creations. Peruse the company’s website and you’ll see Wrangler, Bronco, and Ram truck-based 6x6s. And they wear cool names, including Hellfire, Sinister 6, Juggernaut, Warlord, and Darkhorse.
The company’s newest offering is the World Ender 6×6. The company notes that the vehicle has the heritage look of the Defender line that has been in production since 1983. Under the hood is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that kicks out 518 horsepower. The subframe of the vehicle is reinforced, and World Ender has a patented Tandem Middle Axle that delivers full power to all wheels with no harmonics or feedback noise. In fact, the vehicle is full-time six-wheel drive, though the company says the frontend can be disengaged. The axle ratio is 3.55:1.
Air Suspension, Increased Width, 38-Inch Tires, And More
Additionally, World Ender has a custom independent air suspension that offers 8 inches of ride height adjustability. Apocalypse added airbags, a larger compressor, and additional sensors. Consequently, the new sensors needed to be programmed into the vehicle’s system so it would sense ride height from all six wheels. World Ender’s suspension lift is custom made by Apocalypse and includes special control arms, spindles, and subframe.
Custom bodywork increased the truck’s width by 2 feet, and it has a 4-foot-long pickup bed with rollcage. Furthermore, the vehicle rolls on 38-inch tires mounted to 20-inch military-style wheels. Finally, other features of the truck include a luxury interior with leather on the seats and doors, a front “Cow Killer” push bar, armor side steps, roof rack, and more.
Designed To Go Head-To-Head With The Mercedes 6×6
