When most of us think about Florida, we are likely thinking about vacation memories, vacation plans, or some “Florida Man” news headline. In Travis Pastrana‘s case, it is very much different. Pastrana teamed up with Hoonigan and friends to produce their latest action-packed, auto-centric, tire-slaying, base-jumping, jet-boosting, nose-wheeling, helicopter-spinning, sea-doo-splashing, and all-things radical Gymkhana 2022 video drop.

Gymkhana 2022: Travis Pastrana Goes Berserk in Florida
Leave it to Travis Pastrana to give us one of the rowdiest Gymkhana videos ever — a jet, a chopper, boats, a scoot-ski, 165mph jumps, and more pucker moments than we’d like to remember. If this is what a Pastrana family vacation looks like in Florida, sign us up.
Good ol’ Cleetus McFarland and his TBM-equipped Mullet El Camino make a cameo in this latest GYMKHANA video. Travis is speeding wide-open down a boulevard and uses the aero-package Subaru to the assisted car coming to a stop. Cleeter is staged on the other side of the road for a drag race. They blast off, and well Pastrana’s lightweight retro-looking wagon, with 862 horsepower on tap, pretty much smokes the competition.
That is correct! This car has more than 860 horsepower coming out of a Subaru Boxer 4-cylinder engine. Based on a 1984 GL Subaru Wagon, it is a quirky little machine that gives Pastrana the ride of his life! Apparently, this retro rally car was built by Vermont Sports Cars and commissioned with guidance from Hoonigan and Subaru Motorsports USA. Dubbed the VT21g – 1983 Subaru GL Family Huckster, we have found the full build specs and another Hoonigan video that details the build.

Travis Pastrana At The 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed
After a little more poking around on the web, we found the first public appearance of the “Family Huckster”. Pastrana entered the custom Subaru in the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed. “The car began its life as a 1983 Subaru GL Wagon, now named the “Family Huckster”, but as you can imagine not much of the original car remains. The original body panels have been tossed out in favor of bespoke carbon fiber pieces, while the car’s chassis has been upgraded to a lightweight tubular spaceframe.”
“Under the hood a 4-cylinder boxer engine able to produce 862 hp, coupled to a 6-speed sequential gearbox and all-wheel drive. Despite the retro look, one of the wagon’s standout features is its active aerodynamics: a big rear aero wing at the back that works alongside the hydraulic aero flaps on the front and rear fenders.”
