Win A Thrill Ride In A Trick Truck With Method Race Wheels

Have you ever dreamed about what it would be like to ride shotgun in a real off-road trick truck? Can you imagine what the latest in off-road performance feels like ripping through the desert at speed? Well, Method Race Wheels has organized an opportunity where one lucky winner will be able to have this experience. Method has teamed up with Best In The Desert to celebrate the famed Vegas To Reno desert race. Part of the event promotions includes an “enter to win” sweepstakes contest with the grand prize being a thrill ride in a trick truck with a legitimate desert racing champion.

For clarification, trick truck and trophy truck are the exact same thing except SCORE-International owns the copyrighted term “Trophy Truck”. So, hopefully, free from future litigation, how can you be the grand prize winner, and what exactly is up for grabs? It is as simple as signing up on the Enter To Win form on the Method Race Wheels website. I always say “you cannot win if you do not enter!”

Vegas To Reno: The Longest Off-Road Race In The United States

That is all super fun and games, but what is the Best In The Desert’s Vegas To Reno desert race and why is it so special? The easy way to answer that is to watch the complete 2021 race in its entirety below. But to surmise, this off-road classic is one of the most prestigious in all of desert racing. Considered “the longest off-road race in the United States,” the start is located outside the remote town of Beatty, Nevada and then crisscrosses State Highway 95 before arriving near the town of Dayton some 500 miles later.

The race will start on Friday, August 12th.

As of July, 20th there are 248 entries officially registered with more singing up every day. The four largest class are also the most competitive! UTV Turbo Pro leads with 29 entries, UTV Unlimited with 24, and 6100 (TT Spec) is loaded with 22 trucks. The unlimited division shows 19 Trick Trucks officially on deck.

This exciting event celebrates when Casey Folks added cars, trucks and quads to his already successful motorcycle race 27 years ago. Truly a milestone for Best In The Desert and the distinguished event. Every Vegas to Reno race held since then has proven to be the embodiment of what Casey envisioned.

Vegas To Reno: The Course

Originally concepted by the late Casey Folks to bolster the spirit of American Adventurers, this unique off-road race will present 495 miles of race course through some of the most remote and rough desert terrain on earth. The 2022 version starts racers outside of Las Vegas — in Beatty Nevada — and then send them out on remote washes, trails, mining and military access roads to Dayton, Nevada to finish near Reno.

Race teams will have access to twelve remote pit stop locations along the way. The actual map and GPS coordinates are not released until the week of the race. This keeps things interesting and the competition tight.

Sounds amazing! A true off-road adventure. How can it get event better? The most exciting development, just announced, is the Head To Head Time Trials event. The top classes participating in the qualifying session will race side by side to set starting positions for the main event.

Head To Head Time Trials!

The week kicks into action on August 11th with the Method Race Wheels Head to Head Time Trials. On a brand new three mile multi-lane course, the sport’s most aggressive racers will line up side by side to individually battle against the clock for race day starting positions.

With multi-lane options, towering jumps and blistering high speed sections, this course will separate the brave from the timid.

Vegas To Reno: Live Event Coverage

The best way to catch the action is in person or chasing in a helicopter, but that is not an option for most. Method Race Wheels has the rest of us covered with live event coverage all weekend from the event landing page. Beginning on Thursday, August 11th with the Head To Head Time Trials Live Broadcast Show, you can view all of the race happenings starting at 9:00 AM.

Last year, Method and BITD put together an awesome package for V2R’s live event coverage and we expect it to be even better for 2022!

On race day, Friday, August 12th, hosted Hourly Race Update shows break down the play by play. The live event coverage also features race day check point timing, team tracking maps, and finish line interviews.

Besides watching the action on the Method’s event coverage page, RYDE TV is offering live viewing on their mobile app. This includes a full month of complimentary unlimited access when you sign up using the FREE promo code.

Going one step further, Best In The Desert and Method Race Wheels are excited to announce multiple live in-car cameras. Viewers can watch live action from the cockpits of BJ Baldwin, Bryce Menzies, Just Smith, Bruce Binquist,  Jerry Herling, and Joey Herling. Apparently more on this live in-car camera roster will be announced.
