Revitalize Your Aging Ford Ranger With Anzo USA Halo Headlamps

When your trusty steed begins showing her age, you may begin to notice the worn-out flash and fade of certain components. The good news is that you can easily address this tired and worn-out contortion with new affordable aftermarket replacements. Headlamps are a focused feature on any vehicle. If they are past their prime and are no longer clear-eyed, it not only affects the front-end profile looks but is also a safety hazard. Anzo USA Halo Headlamps helps solve all of these issues.

Anzo USA is a leading automotive aftermarket producer of vehicle lighting products with over 30 years of manufacturing experience. They offer dozens of OEM quality replacement lighting options for the most popular late model vehicle applications. Simply put, it is tough to find any other brand that beats Anzo when it comes to quality, style, and selection

Anzo USA Offers Many Different Styles For All Types Of Vehicle Applications!

That was the main reason we went to Anzo when it came to addressing some appearance issues on our latest Off Road Xtreme project vehicle. The Ultimate PreRunner Ranger has over 160,000 miles racked up on the odometer with a lot of off-roading mixed in and has seen better days. The OEM headlamp assembly is a dated 2-piece design with the front signals separated from the main light. We went and sourced ANZO USA Halo Headlamps SKU#111152 which not only refreshed our vehicle appearance it also improved the look and performance.

Designed and engineered in Southern California, their advanced on-road lighting products are manufactured with SAE and DOT compliance ratings to meet and exceed all local, state, federal and international standards. Anzo USA also offer a complete catalog of off-road LED lighting products and various other accessories.

OEM verses Anzo

Using Anzo’s website year, make, model, parts look-up feature, we found sixteen different products available for the 2004 Ford Ranger. Everything from OEM style replacement products to new and enhanced modern-looking “U-shaped” light bar headlamps. For every product, they seemed to offer two similar styles; a blacked-out look or a crystal clear version We selected the round halo style because it resembled the OEM features but offered an upgraded visual appearance. Additionally, the new Anzo headlamp is a 1-piece design with the turn signal component built-in to the rest of the main headlamp.

I specifically appreciated the OEM-level quality components used to construct all product features. Anzo includes OEM-style halogen bulbs already assembled. The breather would prevent any moisture from being collected and trapped. The main connections are plug and play. But the DTRL Halos do require some extra wiring to sort out. There is one power and one ground wire. If the halo lights are wanting to be used as Daytime Running Lights, all that is required is to splice into a 12v circuit, generally a parking light circuit or fuse box.

It is a super simple installation that can be completed in about an hour. Liked mentioned before, these are plug and play, so it really was as simple as remove and replace.

Old headlamp removal.

With it was all said and done, I took the truck out for a later afternoon drive. We went and found some hill climbs to grab some beauty shots of the after installation look. The new headlamps really turned the trucks look around for the better, but also shined some light on a bunch of other issues we will need to sort out. The contrasting of new verses old parts really stands out so I plan to begin cleaning off the old and touching up everywhere to get it looking proper. Oh, and do not mind the shot-out bald tires. These are just some old spares to keep the truck off the jack stands for now.

Final Thoughts And Conclusion

When it got dark, I parked approximately 25 feet away from a solid wall to inspect the Anzo USA Halo Headlamps light pattern. It sprayed pretty good and after a fe adjustment turns, I had them pointing right where I wanted. It could be said the included bulbs are a little warm and underwhelming when it comes to modern vehicle lighting. At this point I am satisfied, but as the only forward facing lights on the vehicle, there is definitely room for improvements. I will be looking at some bulb upgrades for sure and I plan to install some actual LED off-road lighting in the near future.
