The Latest Addition to 2022 Toyota Family: 4Runner TRD Sport

Toyota recently extended the 2022 4Runner family with the addition of the TRD Sport model. TRD Sport is designed to deliver unparalleled on-road performance. In all regards, TRD Sport is also quite a capable off-roader and even does well on snow, dirt, and gravel. Toyota claims that TRD Sport’s suspension offers a comfortable ride, but it has also been tuned to deliver impressive handling on-road handling.

The new model will be available in 2WD or 4WD. Quite the looker, the exterior includes a TRD-style hood scoop, black roof rails, and color-keyed accents on the grille. The interior is just as appealing as the exterior and flaunts unique black SofTex-trimmed seats with contrasting gray stitching, TRD shift knob, and TRD Sport floor mats.

Creature comforts include an 8-inch multimedia display, which is compatible with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Amazon Alexa. Apart from that, the 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport also gets Wi-Fi Connect (up to 3 GB), and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The truck rides on an all-new Cross-Linked Relative Absorber System (X-REAS) suspension.

Under the hood, the new 4Runner model is powered by a 4.0-liter V6 engine, which produces 270 HP of maximum power and 278 lb-ft of peak torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed ECT-i automatic transmission that sends power to the wheels, which also comes with an option of a two-speed transfer and selectable low-range. The all-new TRD Sport can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

The truck also gets a plethora of advanced safety features, which include lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, and blind-spot monitoring. The all-new 4Runner TRD Sport gets a $40,150 price tag and the prices of the 2022 4Runner start at $37,305 (SR5).
