Best In The Desert Racing Association announced that the 25th Running of “Casey Folks” Vegas to Reno event will be enhanced with a special live-stream time trial broadcast. Additionally, the BITD qualifying session, set for August 11, has expanded to nine different classes of competition and will feature a full seven hours of live coverage.
Live-streamed broadcasting is presented by Method Race Wheels and will be aired on Best In the Desert’s website, www.bitd.com and YouTube channel. The following classes will be featured: Open Pro Motorcycles, UTV Pro Turbo, UTV Pro Open, Classes 1000, 7200, 6100, 6200 1500, and Trick Trucks. With nine classes competing for the all-important lead start positions the BITD qualifying action will be fast and furious.
The BITD Qualifying Event Looks to Be More Exciting Then Ever!
Off-road racing insider and veteran announcer Jack Korpela will serve as host and commentator of the broadcast, sharing announcing duties with Bryan Folks. Best In The Desert has teamed up with Turn Two TV Productions to provide start-to-finish time trial coverage starting at 9:00 AM on August 11, 2021. Static and drone cameras located at key points along the course will capture all of the action. Special features and background stories on off-road racing will fill in gaps between racing classes.
The BITD qualifying course is set on a five-and-a-half-mile track of desert south of Jean Dry Lake and will challenge the competitors as they try to set the benchmark times to lead the race.
Vegas to Reno is America’s longest desert race and a prestigious top 5 off-road event. This year’s course is 500 miles long starting at Bonnie Claire, Nevada and finishing in Dayton, Nevada. The marked trail features a healthy amount of challenging sections zig-zagging through Tonopah, Como Summit and Churchill Canyon leading to the finish line. V2R is known to see some very fast racing, with lots of head-to-head competition.
