Sparta Brakes Launches Athena Big Brake Kits

New from Sparta Brakes – the Athena big brake kits. The kits are great for oversized wheels and their framework offers increased airflow for better temperature regulation while towing or off-roading. See more details below.

Official Release:

Sparta Brakes (Sparta Evolution) has released their new Athena range of big brake kits for the off-road market.

Sparta’s Athena range of big brake kits initially launch with coverage for three popular off-road vehicles: Ford F150, Chevrolet Colorado, and Ford F150 Raptor with plans to continue developing and adding new vehicle applications. The kits include all necessary components to install and require no permanent modification for fitment . All kits include calipers, rotors, semi-metallic pads, stainless brake lines, performance brake fluid, caliper brackets and mounting hardware. Kits are sold for front, or rear axle and require the use of 20” wheels to clear the significantly oversized 380mm brake rotors.

“The Athena is a clean sheet design for us. As the performance division of Mando, we took a look at the products and technology currently available in the market and developed the Athena to bridge the gap between ultra-high-performance racing brake systems and products intended for durability and long service life when used on daily drivers or in off-road conditions.” Yoni Kellman, Sparta Sales and Marketing Manager continues: “Athena is a fully capable caliper design and matching rotor system that is at home on the interstate as well as on a steep descent trail or hidden two-track.”

The Athena caliper incorporates many unique features and advantages into its design, such as a rigid monoblock body with Sparta’s Aero-vent lightened framework for increased airflow to lower overall braking temperatures that result in more consistent braking. The Athena calipers are paired with Sparta’s true floating two-piece designed brake rotor that incorporates Sparta’s proprietary DCF96 internal vane structures for increased cooling and fewer hot spots that can cause erratic braking performance. Externally, TW3 slotting has been utilized to help stabilize internal temperatures, as well as optimize pad deglazing and debris evacuation. The calipers themselves are available individually for customized fitments, in 6 piston and 4 piston configurations, with appropriate rotor rings as well.

Features:

  • Fit late-model Ford F-150 and Raptor trucks, as well as Chevrolet/GMC Colorados and Canyons
  • Rigid monoblock body
  • Aero-vent lightened framework for increased airflow
  • Proprietary DCF96 internal vane structures for increased cooling and fewer hot spots
