2020 Ford Super Duty’s Tremor Package Available With 12,000-LB Winch

Being able to drag yourself out of a bad situation is crucial when you’re off-roading. With the new Ford Tremor package, for an extra $3,000, you too can have a 12,000-pound winch. That’s right, you aren’t getting stuck ever. Or at least we think. Here are the details.

In my opinion, it’s a little crazy to take a late model Ford truck that costs probably $50,000-$60,000-plus, off-road and chance burying it in the woods but here we are. With the latest attachment to these Tremor packages and offering a 12,000-pound winch, it really doesn’t matter. You can get yourself out.

The Tremor package isn’t new. They have been out and already offer trail-ready items like skid plates, high-clearance running boards, Dana front differential, locking rear differential, a small suspension lift, and a set of 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler All-terrain tires. These were set up to go off-road but something was missing; A winch.

Knowing they were missing something, Ford teamed up with one of the winching industry’s leaders, Warn Industries. This $3,000 add-on features Warn’s 12,000-pound winch is integrated into the front bumper system on the trucks and will not interfere with the crash rating. The winch features a synthetic line opposed to a steel cable and the entire thing is operated via wireless remote.

“We developed this unique winch in cooperation with Warn specifically to meet Built Ford Tough truck standards for our new F-Series Super Duty,” said Ron Meredith, Ford truck vehicle personalization planning manager, in a statement. “Having a winch specially designed to our Built Ford Tough standards gives our hard-working Super Duty customers yet another tool to extend this truck’s capabilities, whether at work or on the trail.”

The Ford Performance winch kit is available as a factory option or as a dealer-installed accessory and will go on sale sometime in the mid-2020 season. Stay tuned to Diesel Army for the latest in trucks, parts, and performance.
