KC Releases SLIMLITE LED With Classic Design And Updated Performance

New from KC – the SLIMLITE LED series of lighting. These lights are a  best-in-class product with performance and aesthetics while keeping the original compact size and depth. See more details below.

Official Release:

The SLIMLITE LED honors KC’s timeless round shape and slim depth while introducing modern aesthetics, LED technology, and optical design in this iconic reboot. KC again sets a new standard by combining legendary design and performance.

The original SLIMLITE, still sold today using a halogen light source, has an origin story dating back to the late ‘90s; a legacy dreamed up by our former executive Michael DeHaas. Our desire to create a more compact version of the Daylighter without
compromising performance led us down a road of cutting our daylighter housing in half. We quickly realized that without too much more investment we could reduce the depth of the housing while maintaining output and operational efficiency with existing optical components. The rest, as they say, is history. KC’s SLIMLITE and stone guards quickly became an international success and created an imprint on off road enthusiasts worldwide.

“We have been asked by our customers, for years now, to deliver a SLIMLITE in LED. There are always very large shoes to fill when you’re recreating an iconic product that means something to people. We were challenged with creating a nostalgic tribute while disrupting key dimensions across aesthetics, performance, and accessibility to the masses.” says Alan Wang, CEO of KC.

KC engineered the SLIMLITE LED using, a first for our industry, CREE XLamp XD series LED packing 50 watts per light and putting out 60% more light output than its 100W halogen predecessor. Through CREE’s XD16 LEDs we were able to maximize lumen density (pack more lumens per inch of space). Ultimately, we are able to deliver best-in-class product with performance and aesthetics while keeping the original compact size and depth.

Features:

  • CREE XLamp XD series LED packing 50 watts per light
  • 60% more light output than its 100W halogen predecessor
  • Maximized lumen density
