If you are at all familiar with aftermarket lighting for your off-road rig, then you have probably heard of KC HiLiTES. The company has been around for a few decades. They creates some of the highest-performing accessory lights on the planet. During the 2019 SEMA Show, we had the chance to catch up with marketing manager Randy Wimenta.
Randy shared with us the motivations behind the particular display this year. He said, “We wanted to feature a 1969 Wagoneer because we are about to go into 2020 and celebrate our 50th anniversary.” You can tell the anniversary is important to the company because the build is certainly on point.
Among the highlights of the creation are a GM LS engine swap, Atlas leaf springs, and Currie axles. 37-inch BF Goodrich mud terrains wrapped around Walker Evans Racing beadlocks keep the ride moving through the muck. Classic Warn hubs clash appropriately with the remote reservoir Icon Vehicle Dynamics shocks.
Of course, there is plenty of illumination to go around as well. KC HiLiTES Gravity Pro Headlights light up the road ahead. Two additional Gravity lights reside behind the grill and can be fitted with amber lenses. DOT-approved fog lights keep the road visible under any condition. Both clear and amber lenses are available for a variety of the KC HiLiTES offerings. The A-pillars house SlimLite LEDs that are designed to fit in spaces that other lights won’t.
The Gravity Pro 6 lights above the windshield also house Infinity Ring technology. A KC invention, these rings link all of the lights together and create a combo beam pattern that can be articulated. The entire setup resides on the KC HiLiTES M-rack. The M-rack is available for a variety of models. It has integrated lighting options for the Tacoma, 4Runner, Wrangler, and several trucks.
