There is a good chance, that if you are driving a newer vehicle, the accelerator pedal is connected to the motor electronically. Known and “Drive-By-Wire”, the newer systems are very intertwined with the onboard computer system. Having the skinny pedal connected through the computer allows the system to know more about how you are driving and what is going on with the vehicle.
The downfall to the “Drive-By-Wire” design is the inherent lag between pedal movement and engine response. JMS Chip and Performance set out to correct that with the PedalMax. In the video above, the Off Road Xtreme team tested the system out on a JK Wrangler. The video also goes through the easy plug and play installation.
The PedalMax is available for many crs, trucks, SUVs and UTVs, some as far back as 2008. Both gas and diesel engines can reap the rewards of faster and adjustable throttle response.
